Happy birthday to me...and a give away!

So yesterday I mentioned a give away in honor of a special day, well today I am 35(well, technically not until around 2pm according to my mother, but none the less). I don't expect I will have a huge response except for the 19 or so beautiful souls that bother to read my ramblings! But here it is!
  • The giveaway: a miniBLUEPRINT from DHB Designs! If you don't know what that is - a miniBLUEPRINT is a E-decorating service I provide through DHB Designs...go check it out here ... It can be the room of your choice, but only one room!!!
  • To enter, leave a comment "what was the best birthday present you ever received?"
  • Comments will end tomorrow at 6a.m. and I will select a winner! POST EDIT: the winner will be selected randomly...probably by my four year old!!! :)

  1. First of all Happy Birthday!!!! Hope your day is great! The best birthday present I received is a tie between two. One year my Mom and Dad surprised me with a piece of furniture I had my eye on in the antique shop. The second was this year when my husband threw me a very unexpected 40th birthday party. I had a room full of my friends and family. So fun. As for the miniBlueprint --- I sooooooo want to win!! We need so much help in decorating our bedroom. It is a very odd design and leaves little room to work with, so we just keep putting it off. Pick me, pick me!

  2. Donna - Happy 35th Birthday! I hope it is a great day. Did you get those shoes you wanted for Christmas or did you have to wait for your birthday? I love checking out your blog, but You don't have to include me in the contest since I'm family. It's hard to pick one best birthday present. My best friend Melissa is always creative and one year she sent me some wonderful coconut ice cream (on dry ice) from Hawaii. One of my best presents, though, is the beautiful artwork/frame you made out of my wedding invitation. - Much love, Melissa

  3. Oh Melissa, you get to be in the contest too...it will be a random selection-so everyone gets a fair chance!!! Yes, I did get the shoes (not the exact ones that I pictured on the blog bc I didn't read good reviews about the "metallic" finish), but similar ones and I think I like them better!

  7. First of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I would hardly refer to your blog as "ramblings"! Your positive energy and spirit always shine through and I look forward to reading your posts everyday:)

Best Birthday present, thats a tough one. I was (and am still) very spoiled (and aware of it!) so its hard to remember just one present. But one year in grammar school my mom baked fancy lavender and green chocolate cupcakes for me to take in to class with almond hershey kisses on them (they were amazing). Thats up there with my fave birthday memories:) Great giveaway!!

  8. HUGE happy Birthday to you!!!! So many January bdays!!

I am truely dying to win this one (and how generous of you, giving us gifts on YOUR special day!)

My best bday present has actually been given over the past few years. My parnets have given my brother and I lift tickets to a local ski mountain. We get to go out for a few days, spend some time together and have fun!

  9. Happy Birthday Donna! Hope it's been awesome! My best birthday present ever, hmmm. Well, the best one I ever received was exactly one week late. It was 2002, and Aleisha, my first (and only) child was born. I consider her my gift/blessing from God everyday!

  10. Happy Birthday! I hope you are enjoying your day. I have to say one of my favorite birthday presents was when I was little (around 10) and my mom took me to an Amy Grant concert and I got to meet her backstage. Oh, I was so excited and who doesn't love some old school Amy Grant.

  11. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I think my best gifts have to do with the party. For my 16th birthday my parents gave me a surprise party with friends only at Jenkins. This year Jon planned a surprise party for my 30th with family, friends, etc. It was great! I REALLY wanted a party and I threw LOTS of hints. I told Jon to watch out because I have 3 years to plan for his big 40!

  13. ooh- Happy Birthday! We are just about the same age (my birthday is in May). YAY hope you had a great day and thank you for the giveaway!

Best birthday present- that's a toughie. I'd say my thirtieth because my girlfriends gave me a friendship bracelet (different gemstones, one representing each of us-- way cooler than it sounds) and took me out to dinner. Simple, but made me feel very loved!

  15. Hi Donna, love your blog! My best birthday present was for my 13th birthday. My Mom baked a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and topped it with a little statue of a teenage girl on a pink princess phone (this was in 1967!) in honor of my turning into a teen. It is very special to me because my Mom died a little over a year later. I have made a practice of decorating special cakes for both of my sons, even making a T-Rex one year! I'm sure they'll remember them as fondly as I do hers.

  16. Hey Donna! Hope you had a great birthday! I am a little late for the giveaway, but I was remembering a great birthday I had as a kid. I won a birthday party giveaway and got to have a private party at the movie theater for me and my friends. The movie we watched was "somewhere under the rainbow". Were you at that one??
