Construction underway!

Just wanted to say "please excuse the mess" over on my website...a bit of construction is underway in the Gallery (portfolio) , Blueprint (new mini BLUEPRINT coming soon) and the Boutique - hopefully all the changes will be complete by the end of the week! In the meantime...this is what I am thinking about today... I have a china cabinet, a Drexel, that I inherited from my grandfather's side of the family years ago-along with a buffet(in my entryway as a storage console) and a table with six shield back chairs...It is very similar to the one above except it has a 'bow' front - glass and all!!! It is a dark cherry, which is beautiful - but not my cup of tea! I would REALLY love to paint this baby and then paper the inside but I have so many people that gasp at the thought of painting an antique. So what do you think? Photo unknown

  1. do what you love. if the original wood finish isn't so much your style, paint it to your liking!

  2. If you're scared of painting it, perhaps just papering the inside would be enought of a change? I agree, this picture is a great inspiration!

  3. I am all for it! Especially if you have no plans of selling it to make an extra buck. this would look amazing.

  4. I am having the same dilema! I think it's a great way to update a classic piece and make it fit your decor. I love this black chinoise with the imperial trellis! I'm so glad you stopped by my blog, (thanks!) bc I was able to find yours. I'm really enjoying it. I sure hope you come back to mine again soon...
