Loving my new website!

Just a little break from work...I wanted to post an update on my website dhbdesignstudio.com I am adding some finishing touches this week and by weeks end it should be up and running LIVE! I am so thrilled with Lisa Bacon's design work...click here to go on over and take a peek at her stuff!

Counting my blessings!

Need to do a little work tonight...took one last look at the kids as they were sleeping and their sweet faces reminded me to count my blessings...and I have lots!!!

Something new...

Ok, it has been a week with no posting...been a little busy with kiddos starting school/preschool and my website, dhbdesignstudio.com, is just about ready to go live...so I have been busy getting that tweaked and ready to go! So for today, here is something new I came across... This is a company called Ferm Living and they have really cute stuff! I am loving the pillow for a children's room and I LOVE the wallpaper with the peacock feather...wish it was available in different colors!

A tribute to 'hand made'

Today I came across this: These are beautiful, hand made pieces by Emerson...if you are looking for a gift that will be a cherished heirloom - then you've found it! So much nicer than mass produced stuff!!! Signing off...happy weekend to all!

I have been in a mode of posting design and lifestyle 'stuff' ...so here are a few more things I love! These are from Dabney Lee Home...I have posted several of her things before but I just love the new Lucite Trays and the SuperNotePads....I love the punch of color because I am mostly a "neutral" person so these would be nice to add a little color! TO DO LIST

Nothing glamorous to post today because My TO DO LIST...is getting longer by the minute!!!

• call Jimmy - reschedule appointment to look at tile because.....
• I am having car issues...:(
• Go get the Civic serviced...do a little grocery shopping while I am at it
• Pay bills
• check client emails
• LAUNDRY
• Help Liv clean up her bedroom, again...
• finish cleaning out boxes in the dining room - ORGANIZE!!!!!!!
• Drop Liv off with David so I can go to my dental appointment
• Call Kerri...not sure we can meet tonight for our prayer group

and last, but not least....remember our family verse for the week bc it will help me get through all the above "do everything without complaining or arguing" Phil 2:14 HAPPY WEDNESDAY TO ALL!

These rock!

I usually don't post twice in one day, but I came across this great give away! These rock...I haven't bought a new pair of jeans since before my daughter was born...that's been almost four years ago...I know, it's very sad! So imagine my excitement when I found these over on 2Ellie . She is having a little give away - a chance to win these babies! They would be perfect with these boots that I have been drooling over for a while and I found a few other things that would finish them off: Boots are SHEPLERS, dream bag and necklace ANTHROPOLOGIE, tshirt and sweater JCREW

The Search begins...

It's time....I have put it off long enough, I am searching for a new sofa!!! I have been fighting this for some time now, mainly bc my little ones are still in the 'messy' phase...although I am not sure that ever ends! But since we are going to be putting our house on the market, I think staging it would definitely benefit, so here are some options to start with: I know what you are saying , "are you crazy, white sofas!" but my thinking is this...they are both slipcovers and there is this thing called BLEACH...so I will continue to think and ponder, in the meantime, maybe I could add this.... A rug I can live with....

I was checking email this morning and catching up on some blogs when I read Lisa's post over on www.ahousefullofmoxie.com/ where she was sharing her disdain of the family room rug...I can feel her pain...so here is a great option for Lisa and the many other mom's just like her! This rug is actually carpet tiles from a company called FLOR. This picture shows a 'stripe' pattern created with different colors that I think would be perfect for Lisa's room...only in her favorite colors! The best thing about these carpet tiles, they attach to the floor with these little sticky dots on the back side but when you have a spill or pet accident, you 'pop' the tile up and clean it, yes they are washable! Or worse case scenario, just replace that tile. FLOR has so many great options...So go on over and check out their website!

Color & Sparkle!

Found this picture courtesy of Chiccoles.blogspot.com. I just love these pillows...the color(or some would say non-color), the texture, the sparkle....it really is my own personal aesthetic!

Changing it up!

So, I changed my blog colors...just because! I also wanted to post some things from my vacation....my cool finds! So, today I thought I would show you the great sea fans I found at a little shop called "She Sells Sea Shells" - yeah, can you imagine saying that every time you answer the phone! Anyway, I found these for a steal:They were beautiful just hanging in the shop so I thought "hey, I can frame those in shadow boxes and they would be a great keepsake from out trip"...so when I got them home, I found some black shadow boxes and I did this.... Some day, I hope to have a wall large enough for all three, but in the meantime, I have two in my family room and the third in my master bedroom...they turned out really great and I can change up the look by changing the background colors!

Beginning the week

Ok, I am soooo behind on posting anything new...but I am trying to get back into some type of routine for my family, my work , and the many things on my TO DO LIST...here are just a few...

• Finish caulking newly remodeled guest bathroom - it looks GREAT!
• Call about tile for the Master Bath - need about 2 more boxes
• plan menu for the week - probably need to hit the grocery store too
• CLEAN MY HOUSE -after the bathroom renovation...lots of dust and misplacement of MANY THINGS!!!!
• pray, pray, pray(been doing this for weeks) for Braxton, today is his first day back at school in Mrs. Mitchell's 2nd Grade class...wipe away a few tears while I am at it!
• Email Lisa at The Moxie Pear - trying to finish up details for website to go LIVE...SOOON!!!
• Look at calendar...decide on next trip to Atlanta Design Market

Ok...I said a few, I could really keep going, but I need to actually get to all these TO DO's Happy Monday! Here is a little inspiration to keep you going - this is my vision for Liv's room(one day, when she gets her own:)) Wouldn't you love to sleep under that canopy of color!

Some inspiration!

Still trying to get in a routine after our vacation to Pawleys Island...so before I start mopping down my house and paying my bills, here is a little inspiration from a beautiful line called MarniDoesn't it make you want to find all your loose odds and ends and whip up something snazzy!!!

I'm BACK!

I have been out of the blogsphere for a while...to much to do,etc....June was a crazy month which ended with a great vacation to Pawleys Island in South Carolina...just got back around midnight last night...so I am about to start putting things away and sink back into home life! I will have more to post on the vacation in the next few days - lots of pictures of the kiddos and all my good finds from the local shops! Happy 4th of July!!!
